Mission & Goals
Our Vision Ruhama’s vision is of a world free of the sexual exploitation of women, where all women’s lives are valued. Our Mission Ruhama’s mission is to support and empower women impacted by prostitution and sex trafficking by providing safe, accessible, psychological and practical assistance to co-create opportunities to enhance their lives. Ruhama raises public awareness and advocates to influence policy that will support and protect women.
EU Legislative Interests
A. Anti trafficking Law and Policy: including EU legislation addressing prevention of trafficking in human beings. Protection, support and non-punishment of victims. Demand reduction measures, including exploitation in prostitution. B. Gender Equality and Violence against Women: including policies addressing sexual exploitation as a form of gender-based violence. The intersection of trafficking with violence against women and girls. C. Migration, Asylum and Border Governance: including Safeguards for trafficked and at risk persons in migration and international protection systems. Identification of victims among migrants, international protection applicants and undocumented persons. D. Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Co-operation including Cross-border cooperation on organised crime and trafficking networks. Victim-centred investigation and prosecution approaches.
Communication Activities
Submissions and participation in consultative fora and meetings related to all of the above.
