EU Legislative Interests

Rogante Engineering Office is an independent engineering consultancy based in Italy and active in engineering technologies, environmental sustainability, industrial innovation and maritime-related activities. The organisation provides technical expertise, consultancy and participation in scientific discussions, expert exchanges and policy-related initiatives concerning engineering technologies, maritime activities, environmental sustainability and innovation. The activities potentially covered by the Transparency Register relate in particular to European Union policy frameworks and initiatives concerning the maritime sector, marine environment, innovation and research. The organisation is led by Eng. Massimo Rogante, who served from 1984 to 2024 as Technical Director of the maritime company Rogante Dante & C. SAS, which operated in the offshore sector in the Mediterranean Sea until its closure in 2024. The company provided maritime support services for offshore operations, including support vessels for offshore platforms, fast crew boats, vessels for underwater operations, transport of materials and liquids, as well as emergency response activities such as marine anti-pollution and firefighting interventions. These activities were carried out in cooperation with maritime authorities and major offshore and energy operators including Elf Italiana Mineraria, Total Mineraria, Agip, Saipem and Edison Gas. This professional background provides practical knowledge of offshore operations, maritime safety, environmental protection and marine pollution prevention, which are relevant to EU policy frameworks concerning the Blue Economy, maritime safety and the protection of the marine environment. Eng. Massimo Rogante also holds professional maritime qualifications issued by the Italian Merchant Navy and has practical operational experience in maritime navigation and fisheries-related activities.

Member of the Scientific Committee of the Croatian Society for Mechanical Technologies and Structural Materials (Croatia), since 20 August 2019. Member of the Evaluation Panel “Advanced Materials Science and Engineering” of the Czech Science Foundation (Grantová Agentura České Republiky – GAČR), Prague. He is also registered as Professional Engineer with the Engineers Register of the Province of Macerata (Italy) since 31 January 1989.
