Mission & Goals
Res Publica Foundation is a non-partisan think tank with over 30 years of Polish and European policy-relevant forward looking research, publishing and project management experience in CEE. It was established in 1987 with the purpose of developing culture, research and education capacities also linked to European themes and topics. Res Publica’s mission is to strengthen democracy in Central and Eastern Europe and to create the means to prevent a backsliding of democracy, by infusing public debate via Res Publica Nowa (its flagship publication in Polish) and Visegrad Insight (a European think-tank, analysis, research and debate platform in English). Every year, Visegrad Insight, Res Publica publishes around 300 analytical papers, articles and reports later republished in cooperation with the leading national press titles. Over the past 4 years it has also become renowned for EuropeFuture.Forum - high-level discussions on a whole, free, and secure Europe - as viewed from Poland and CEE.
EU Legislative Interests
Our research interests are focused in the past year and one ahead on the Strategic Agenda, the future of European security, Common values and democracy; Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Eurozone (non-euro countries), and the MFF and upcoming elections in Europe.
Communication Activities
Our daily work as a think-tank is based on building policy and public debate, so we do organise a number of events (open-public and closed-door), promote them on our website and social media channels. We also publish reports and articles (in regional media outlets; in English and in national languages). Many of the projects related to EU policies are also EU-funded (we work on a number of projects with the EU Commission and the Parliament).
