Mission & Goals

Regional Dialogue has been working for 15 years mainly focusing on Uzbekistan and Central Asia with the following goals: Promoting good governance and the rule of law, strengthening democratic institutions through legal reform and policy support. Supporting active civil society and youth engagement, empowering youth and fostering participation in public life. Advancing human rights and inclusive governance, encouraging respect for fundamental rights and inclusive decision-making. Facilitating constructive, non-partisan dialogue, promoting peaceful, respectful exchange across cultures and sectors. Strengthening institutional trust and resilience, building cooperation between civil society, government, and justice actors. Providing legal expertise and capacity building, offering legislative guidance, legal education, and professional training.

EU Legislative Interests

We aim to potentially influence the implementation of the EU Strategy for Central Asia 2019. Regional Dialogue aims to conduct initial meetings to present the work carried out in Uzbekistan and regionally over the last 15 years. We will share insights into the developments in Uzbekistan, as they relate to the EU Strategy for Central Asia.

Regional Dialogue is currently one of the implementers for the projects “Improving Governance in Uzbekistan - Inclusive Corruption Prevention” (carried out through the Good Governance Program, implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the NGO “Regional Dialogue” of Slovenia and the Latvian Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA), co-funded by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)) and “Improving Governance in Uzbekistan: Strengthening the National Anti-Corruption Ecosystem” (implemented by UNDP and funded by the EU).
