Mission & Goals

Reddit’s mission is to empower communities and make their knowledge accessible to everyone. We fulfill this mission by hosting a network of more than 100,000 user-created communities built around their interests, hobbies, and passions. Reddit users submit, vote, and comment on content, stories, and discussions about the topics they care about the most, from pets to parenting and everything in between. These communities, called subreddits, are all created, curated, and moderated by the users themselves, democratizing the online experience in a bottom-up structure that facilitates the most open and authentic conversations on the internet.
