Mission & Goals

At QuTech, we aim to develop scalable prototypes of a quantum computer and an inherently safe quantum internet, based on the fundamental laws of quantum mechanics. To achieve this ambitious goal, we bring together scientists, engineers and industry in an inspiring environment. We are jointly creating the quantum future, because we believe that quantum technology can be a game changer in many social and economic sectors.

Research in the field of Quantum Technology and its valorisation, with a focus on the Netherlands and Europe. Communication Activities

As a university, we are regularly involved with speakers and often as a supporter, in events in the field of quantum technology and policy. Due to our role and standing, we are frequently asked to participate in the organization of global and European events at the intersection of science, valorisation and policy. In addition, for the European projects in which we participate, we always ensure communication about their progress and visibility. Meetings or events with EU reps : European Parliament Workshop : Quantum and Chips : developing European Industrial capabilities in quantum technologies, Qutech participated in the workshop organized by the European Parliament’s Science and Technology Options Assessment in 2022. QuTech provided insights into the development of quantum technologies and discussing strategies for industrial capabilities in this field EQTC 2025 : QuTech representatives will be visiting this event 10-12 Nov and will be engaging with EU policymakers and stakeholders to discuss advancements and strategies in quantum technologies
