Mission & Goals

The Public Affairs Council is the leading nonpartisan, nonpolitical association for public affairs professionals worldwide. Launched in 1954, our mission is to advance the field of public affairs and to provide members with the executive education and expertise they need to succeed while maintaining the highest ethical standards. The Council’s staff professionals have direct experience in corporate and association public affairs management, lobbying, global public affairs, social media, corporate responsibility, campaign finance, grassroots advocacy, crisis communication and a host of related areas.

EU Legislative Interests

We organize events and conferences in Europe to advance the profession of public affairs, and we occasionally invite MEPs and EU officials to speak at these events. Upcoming events include: • Two conferences on “Digital Advocacy in Europe” and “Leadership in European Public Affairs” • In-person roundtables and webinars on the following topics: “Transparency in European Public Affairs”, “Communication for Public Affairs”, “Setting up a winning digital advocacy campaign in Europe”, “Storytelling for Advocacy”.

Communication Activities

We organize conferences, webinars, roundtables, workshops and other events about the various aspects of public affairs methodology and best practices, occasionally inviting EU officials or MEPs as guest speakers. We also produce occasional brochures, factsheets and reports about these best practices, publicly available on our website.
