Mission & Goals

Aim of ProductIP is to provide knowledge and software tools to facilitate easy exchange of adequate product and supply chain compliance information in the supply chain, with customers and market surveillance authorities. Data include sustainability data. ProductIP is a web based expert platform containing legal requirements for European (EU+EFTA) countries for non-food consumer products. ProductIP enables (online) retail, trade and manufacturing companies in bringing compliant products on the market based on solid, traceable evidence. In doing so, we inevitably also have a missionary role in educating suppliers worldwide about European legal requirements for consumer products and helping them to collect the necessary evidence to demonstrate compliance to their customers, authorities and consumers based on a requirements list generated by ProductIP. We facilitate DPP, the EU Digital Product Passport. 32,500+ users apply ProductIP on their products, an estimated 50Bn+ in trade.

EU Legislative Interests

ProductIP is following all European initiatives that aim at improving health and safety and environment of consumers and in the workplace in relation to non-food (consumer) products and tools. Directly related initiatives are followed, that aim at enhancing a level playing field for business in the European context, including the activities of market surveillance authorities and customs at Member State and European level. This specifically applies to GROW, Just, Internal Market, Entrepreneurship, Industry and SME's with whom we are exploring possibilities to build a centrally accessible database with actual product and supply chain compliance information for market surveillance authorities, consumers, industry and trade, as included in e.g. LVD and RED Directives

Communication Activities

ProductIP is following developments in the fields of consumer product compliance, and supply chain transparency and is therefore participating in EMA and LVD working parties. Furthermore we are discussing with several EU representatives during meetings, seminars, conferences on above topics

Additional Information

We do not represent specific clients. We are an online regulatory platform that provides clients (retail, trade, manufacturing, online sellers, fulfilment service providers) with the regulatory information they need to demonstrate product compliance to customers and relevant market surveillance authorities in the EU member states. We do visit on invitation now and then EU institutions when clarification is needed on EU legislation on consumer products, or when EU representatives would like to discuss EU legislation and/or interpretation. Any discussion on EU legislation or standards is for the benefit of all 32,500+ users of the ProductIP platform. Purpose of the discussions is to clarify EU legislation, support its implementation where necessary and to provide suggestions for improvement where possible.
