Mission & Goals
The company is a trader of electricity active on the regional market and also involved in investment projects for generation of renewable energy across Europe.
EU Legislative Interests
Growth Plan for the Western Balkans (COM(2023) 690 final), with a specific focus on energy market integration, including participation in the EU electricity market, the Energy Union, and renewable energy cooperation mechanisms. Regulation (EU) 2024/1231 establishing the Reform and Growth Facility for the Western Balkans, which supports structural reforms and investment in the green energy transition, energy efficiency, and decarbonisation aligned with EU climate targets. Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), in particular the 2024–2027 Multi-Country Multiannual Action Plan (Commission Implementing Decision C(2024)2155), supporting renewable energy infrastructure, grid modernisation, and regional energy connectivity. Green Agenda for the Western Balkans (endorsed in the 2020 Sofia Declaration), which aligns North Macedonia with the European Green Deal, especially in areas of renewable energy deployment, carbon pricing, and the development of a regional energy market. Relevant legislation and initiatives under the Energy Community Treaty, including the Clean Energy for all Europeans package and the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED II/III), which are key to the region’s energy transition and electricity market reform.
Communication Activities
Participation in regional energy forums and EU-Western Balkans investment dialogues, with the aim of promoting electricity market integration and renewable energy development; publishing policy briefs and position papers (beginning mid-2025) addressing regulatory alignment with EU energy legislation, particularly the Renewable Energy Directive and Clean Energy Package, tailored for the Macedonian market; contributing technical input to public consultations and national energy planning processes relevant to WBIF energy infrastructure investment pathways.
