Communication Activities
Communication Activities for EU AI and Data Policies To promote and raise awareness around the European Union's policies on AI and data, Pop AI has undertaken a range of communication activities targeting diverse stakeholders. Events and Campaigns: We have organised several events to explain the complexities of AI to citizens, students, and companies. These sessions focused on outlining the European vision of trustworthy, human-centric AI, as well as highlighting the potential risks and mitigation strategies. One notable event, held in May, was titled "Dispel fears of artificial intelligence and learn how to use it safely and responsibly". This interactive session aimed to address common misconceptions and allay public concerns about the impacts of AI. In addition to these awareness-raising events, we have also participated in projects with universities to develop educational programs on AI for middle and high school students. These programs equip the next generation with a solid understanding of AI technologies, their applications, and the importance of ethical and responsible development. Publications and Outreach: Pop AI has produced a range of publications to disseminate information about EU AI and data policies. These include policy briefs, infographics, and opinion pieces distributed through our website, social media channels, and partner networks. These materials explain the key elements of the EU's regulatory framework, such as the AI Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and their implications for businesses and citizens. Furthermore, we have actively engaged in public outreach initiatives, such as panel discussions, workshops, and media interviews. These platforms have allowed us to amplify the European vision of trustworthy AI and advocate for the responsible use of data and AI-powered technologies. Ongoing Projects and Collaborations: Currently, Pop AI is involved in a project focused on promoting the safe and ethical use of AI in the medical sector. By working with healthcare professionals, we aim to develop guidelines, training programs, and use cases that demonstrate how AI can be leveraged to improve patient outcomes while upholding ethical principles and safeguarding patient data. Through these multifaceted communication activities, Pop AI strives to bridge the gap between the EU's policy objectives and the public's understanding and adoption of AI and data-driven technologies. By empowering citizens, educating the next generation, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders, we hope to contribute to the realization of a future where AI serves the greater good and aligns with European values of trust, transparency, and sustainability.
