Mission & Goals
Polint is a political and public affairs consultancy, based in Brussels, with offices in the United Kingdom. Polint offers political and communications strategies, directed primarily at the European Institutions, and East Asia. At the moment, we do not engage in active lobbying for any of our clients. Polint’s political expertise and knowledge extend to the European Parliament and Commission, political institutions in East Asia, and the United Nations. Focus is trade policy and trade relations, industrial and competition policy, digital, environmental issues.
EU Legislative Interests
Polint’s services include regulatory monitoring, policy analysis, strategic advice, event organisation. The main EU policies and initiatives we have followed during the reporting period related to: EU trade policy: 1) EU-Thailand relations 2) EU-Japan relations 3) EU-ASEAN relations 4) China trade and political relations 5) EU-US trade relations 6) Brexit especially in relation to Gibraltar 7) trade-related aspects of the Green Deal Digital policy: 1) EU Data Strategy; 2) White Paper on AI; 3) Guidelines on 5G ; 4) Cybersecurity Act
Communication Activities
Polint produces a weekly newsletter on EU-Thailand relations for the Royal Thai Embassy, Brussels and Mission of Thailand to the European Union as part of the Embassy’s Intelligence Monitoring and Early-Warning Unit (IMEU) Project. In November 2019, Polint facilitated the organisation of an event on international challenges related to cybersecurity and the ‘European way’ to cybersecurity in the European Parliament (Brussels). The event was co-sponsored by MEPs with financial support by the Chinese Mission to the EU and saw the participation of speakers from the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, industry and academia.
