Mission & Goals
PLATFORMA coordinates the voice of European local and regional governments active in decentralised development cooperation. Launched in 2008, its main objectives are: - To present a common message to the European institutions, in particular for the definition and implementation of European development policies - Facilitate networking of information and sharing experiences - Strengthen the participation of European local and regional authorities in European development programs - Strengthen links with civil society

Communication Activities
PLATFORMA engages in a dynamic social media strategy by communicating on thematic issues on which decentralised cooperation is active (climate, local governance, health, access to water and sanitation, education, gender equality, local services, local economic development, migration, etc.). Core campaigns include (i) the European Days of Local Solidarity (EDLS) - annual campaign, (ii) 2030 Agenda - Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), (iii) PLATFORMAwards - bi-annual dissemination campaign.
