Mission & Goals
Since 22 July 2024, Plastalliance has acquired European competence. Plastalliance's purpose is to defend, within the framework of the rules governing the European Union, the sovereignty of the European (EU) plastics industry and the economic interests and competitiveness of companies in the plastics, composites, bioplastics and/or additive manufacturing (including 3D printing) industries and/or companies using or selling or recycling or manufacturing or marketing products made of natural or non-natural plastic polymers (or packaged in packaging made of this type of polymer) and/or having a direct or indirect interest in natural or non-natural plastic polymers.Plastalliance is a member of the Circular Plastics Alliance. Plastalliance is working for the harmonisation of European policy on the regulation of plastics. Plastalliance works at European level for the eco-responsibility of the sector: circular economy, eco-design, improvement of waste treatment, collection and sorting,
EU Legislative Interests
Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of CHemicals (REACH),regulation on preventing plastic pellet losses to reduce microplastic pollution, Directive 2019/904 of 5 June 2019 on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, Commission delegated regulation 2023/2486 of 27 June 2023 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2020/852 of the European Parliament and of the Council by establishing the technical screening criteria for determining the conditions under which an economic activity qualifies as contributing substantially to the sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources, to the transition to a circular economy, to pollution prevention and control, or to the protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems and for determining whether that economic activity causes no significant harm to any of the other environmental objectives and amending Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2178 as regards specific public disclosures for those economic activities, Regulation on circularity requirements for vehicle design and on management of end-of-life vehicles, amending Regulations (EU) 2018/858 and 2019/1020 and repealing Directives 2000/53/EC and 2005/64/EC, Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain Directives, all delegated acts relating to the plastics industry, of 19 December 2024, Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste, amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and Directive (EU) 2019/904, and repealing Directive 94/62/EC. in general, any regulation directly or indirectly affecting the European plastics industry

Participation in Circular Plastics Alliance events. Organisation or participation of events, seminars and webinars with the plastics industry and meetings and exchanges with Commission officials or MEPs about the EU plastic policy. Conferences in Europe focusing in particular on support for European policy on the circularity of plastics
