Mission & Goals
The Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) represents manufacturers of life-saving plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs) & private-sector plasma collectors. PPTA consists of 45 member companies across 4 membership categories, operating across the EU. Half of members’ global manufacturing sites & 40% of their highly skilled workforce are based in Europe, producing about 60% of PDMPs. Members also operate 141 plasma collection centres in the 4 EU Member States where private-sector collection is permitted. PPTA & its members share a vision to address growing patient needs & strengthen Europe’s capacity to ensure adequate, reliable & safe access to PDMPs. PPTA EU: advocates for modern, efficient & science-based policy & regulatory frameworks that enhance plasma collection, protect donor & patient wellbeing; support resilient health systems; raises awareness about plasma donation & PDMPs; administers standards & research programs that safeguard donors & improve patient safety.
