Mission & Goals
PhotonDelta drives the growth of the photonic chip industry by supporting startups, applications, infrastructure, and talent. Backed by the Netherlands' National Growth Fund and strategic investments, we accelerate industrialisation of photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Photonic chips use photons (light) to transmit information, enabling faster, more energy-efficient, and precise microchips. These power applications such as LiDAR, advanced networking, and sensing solutions for agrifood, healthcare, and maintenance. As a non-profit, PhotonDelta builds an end-to-end value chain that designs, develops, and manufactures PIC-based innovations. By fostering global awareness and promoting the strengths of the Dutch and European photonic ecosystem, we help create technologies that contribute to a better world.

Communication Activities
Our flagship event is the annual PIC Summit Europe (https://www.picsummiteurope.com/). PSE encompasses two whole days dedicated to discussion, collaboration, and innovation with key international opinion leaders from across our thriving industry. The conference offers a rich programme – featuring keynotes from semicon executives, users of photonic chip technology, national and EU policymakers, and the wider photonic chip community to discuss the future of the global industry. We aim to bring together CEOs of PIC companies in order to strategically position our sector with the upcoming Chips Act 2.0 and preparations for the next Multi-annual Financial Framework. Next to the recent launch of Chips Act Pilot Line PIXEurope, a unified and forward-looking industry voice has never been more urgent.
