Mission & Goals
Pen & Tec, now trading as Argenta, is a specialist consultancy with over 20 years’ experience advising companies on the regulatory requirements for the food chain, human & animal nutrition in Europe. We help clients take food & feed products to market faster, & offer strategic advice on optimising the return on investment from existing product portfolios. Our team has experience in product development & EU regulatory affairs for multiple categories, including food & feed additives, novel foods & nutrition & health claims. Our company is dedicated to meet the needs of companies faced with the growing complexity of food chain legislation & increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
EU Legislative Interests
Pen & Tec Consulting SLU (now trading as Argenta) targets REFIT of feed additive legislation, especially Regulations 1831/2003 & 429/2008, as well as recent pending updates on EFSA FEEDAP user safety & efficacy guidance documents: 1. Evaluation of the feed additives regulation 2. Update of the Guidance on the assessment of the efficacy of feed additives 3. Guidance on the assessment of the safety of feed additives for the users 4. Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament & of the Council on substantiation and communication of explicit environmental claims (Green Claims Directive)
Communication Activities
Pen & Tec Consulting (now trading as Argenta) staff attend EFSA meetings as Observers, & also support EFSA & EU Commission initiatives to engage citizens & stakeholders via web consultations, face-face meetings, participation in EU Commission & EFSA web-based feedback opportunities, & as participants or speakers at key EU & international conferences.
