Mission & Goals
Partnership on AI (PAI) is a non-profit partnership of academic, civil society, industry, and media organizations creating solutions so that AI advances positive outcomes for people and society. By convening diverse, international stakeholders, we seek to pool collective wisdom to make change. We are not a trade group or advocacy organization. We develop tools, recommendations, and other resources by inviting voices from across the AI community and beyond to share insights that can be synthesized into actionable guidance. We then work to drive adoption in practice, inform public policy, and advance public understanding. Through dialogue, research, and education, PAI is addressing the most important and difficult questions concerning the future of AI.
EU Legislative Interests
All bills related to Artificial Intelligence (e.g. EU AI Act, EU GPAI Code of Practice, AI Liability Directive), which includes certain data governance bills with relevance for AI (e.g. Data Governance Act). We will also be engaging with EU stakeholders related to AI policy (e.g. EU Commission and specifically the EU AI Office).
Communication Activities
1) We have recently published a blog reflecting our contributions to the EU’s GPAI code of practice development. This includes the positive elements of the Code and recommendations for how the Code might need to be refined in the future. (https://partnershiponai.org/shaping-the-eu-ai-acts-code-of-practice/) 2) We have made our comments and contributions to the EU Apply AI Strategy available publicly. See these published in the following links: https://partnershiponai.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/2025.06.04_PAI-Response-Call-for-input-on-EU-Apply-AI-Strategy.pdf
