Mission & Goals
The objectives of the Hellenic Federation of Associations of People with Diabetes (P.O.S.S.A.S.DIA.) are fully aligned with the St. Vincent Declaration (1989), as reinforced in Strasbourg (2012), and are framed within a comprehensive, patient-centred and public health-oriented approach. They include promoting awareness and prevention; advancing the equal social inclusion of people with diabetes and combating discrimination and stigma; supporting high-quality education and psychosocial support for patients and caregivers; advocating for the efficient and equitable allocation of resources; fostering research, innovation and international cooperation; promoting the systematic use of epidemiological data for early diagnosis and evidence-based policymaking; contributing to the reduction of complications and severe outcomes in line with European best practices; addressing the specific needs of children and young people; and strengthening multi-stakeholder cooperation to enhance coordination.
