Mission & Goals
Pangea Public Affairs offers services relating to regulatory interest representation at EU level, networking, organisation of meetings and events, training and coaching, political and strategical advice/support to organisations and individuals.
EU Legislative Interests
We are currently monitoring EU legislative initiatives relating to the gaming industry, namely: Implementation of the EC Communication on the European Framework for online gambling (COM (2012) 596 final) and the Council Recommendation on principles for the protection of consumers and players of online gambling services and for the prevention of minors from gambling online (2014/478/EU); Proposal COM (2017) 0386 re: the Council of Europe Convention on the manipulation of sports competitions with regard to matters related to substantive criminal law and judicial cooperation in criminal matters (against match fixing); Implementation of Regulation (EU) 2024/1624 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 May 2024 on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing Implementation of Directive (EU) 2024/1640 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 May 2024 on the mechanisms to be put in place by Member States for the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing, amending Directive(EU) 2019/1937, and amending and repealing Directive (EU) 2015/849 Implementation of Regulation (EU) 2024/1620 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 May 2024 establishing the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism and amending Regulations (EU) No 1093/2010, (EU) No 1094/2010 and (EU) No 1095/2010 Implementation qnd future review of Directive (EU) 2018/1808 - Audiovisual Media Services Directive; Implementation of Regulation (EU) 2018/302 - Geo-blocking Regulation ; Implementation of the Regulation (EU) 2018/1807 - free flow of non- personal data Regulation; Implementation of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 - GDPR Regulation; Consumer protection strategy and follow up - future proposal on a Digital Fairness Act, Consumer Agenda 2025-2030 Simplification agenda 2025 - 2026 - focus on Financial Reporting, Energy, AI, Made in EU.
Communication Activities
We report to our clients updates relating to the above mentioned policies. We prepare engagement material (letters, mails, argumentation documents, facts & figures). We organise, participate and actively contribute, as appropriate, to EC public consultations and to meetings with representatives of the EU Institutions and other stakeholders. Finally we provide strategic advice on governance. Current activities subject to the EC transparency register focus omnibus re: reduced sustainability reporting requirements and financial taxonomy. I also look at the future proposal DFA.
