Mission & Goals

The Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) age rating system was established to help European parents make informed decisions on buying video games. It was launched in the spring of 2003 and replaced a number of national age rating systems with a single system now used throughout most of Europe, in more than 35 countries.

EU Legislative Interests

Minor protection, Better Internet for Kids+, Digital Services Agenda, Digital Fairness Act

Communication Activities

PEGI manages the content classification of video games via age labels and content descriptors, helping parents to establish whether the content of a game is appropriate for their children. The system is based on a Code of Conduct that also describe a number of other industry standards pertaining to safe and responsible online gameplay.
