Mission & Goals
The Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) age rating system was established to help European parents make informed decisions on buying video games. It was launched in the spring of 2003 and replaced a number of national age rating systems with a single system now used throughout most of Europe, in more than 35 countries.

Communication Activities
PEGI manages the content classification of video games via age labels and content descriptors, helping parents to establish whether the content of a game is appropriate for their children. The system is based on a Code of Conduct that also describe a number of other industry standards pertaining to safe and responsible online gameplay.
