Mission & Goals

Oxford PV is the pioneer and technology leader in the field of perovskite solar cells. The company was established in 2010, as a spin-out from the University of Oxford. It focuses exclusively on developing and commercialising perovskite-on-silicon tandem cell technology. Oxford PV headquarters and R&D centre are located in Oxford, UK, and the pilot and integrated production line in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany. The site, operational since 2017, houses the world’s first volume manufacturing line for perovskite-on-silicon tandem solar cells and employs more than 80 staff. Oxford PV is fully committed to large-scale manufacturing of its technology, having achieved recently a new efficiency world record of 26.9% for a commercial size solar module, independently certified by Fraunhofer ISE1. Oxford PV is committed to bringing to the market innovative solutions that will support the acceleration of the energy transition, as well as increasing resilience on energy supply in the EU.
