Mission & Goals

Otsuka Novel Products GmbH (ONPG) is an affiliate of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a global healthcare company with the corporate philosophy of creating new products for better health worldwide. ONPG, which manages the Global Tuberculosis (TB) Programme, focuses on fighting tuberculosis through innovative research and development, equitable access to TB diagnostics and medicines, addressing stigma, promoting TB awareness, participating in collaborations, and implementing capacity-building programmes that strengthen and support effective TB care. In addition, Otsuka engages with local regulatory authorities to maintain the Manufacturing and Importer Authorization of its medicines and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulations.

Otsuka Novel Products GmbH (ONPG) is an affiliate of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a global healthcare company with the corporate philosophy of creating new products for better health worldwide. ONPG, which manages the Global TB Programme, focuses on fighting tuberculosis through innovative research and development, equitable access to TB diagnostics and medicines, addressing stigma, promoting TB awareness, participating in collaborations, and implementing capacity-building programmes that strengthen and support effective TB care. In addition, Otsuka engages with local regulatory authorities to maintain the Manufacturing and Importer Authorization of its medicines and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulations. 1. Otsuka is member of the Antimicrobial Resistance Industry Alliance (AMRIA) - https://www.amrindustryalliance.org/ The AMR Industry Alliance is one of the largest private sector coalitions set up to provide sustainable solutions to curb antimicrobial resistance, with over 100 biotech, diagnostics, generics and research-based pharmaceutical companies and associations joining forces. Antimicrobial resistance poses a formidable threat to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The United Nations called in 2016 for concerted action from governments and various sectors to address the implications of antimicrobial resistance in a comprehensive manner and implement strategies at national level. The AMR Industry Alliance is the life-sciences industry response to the call for action. As an active member of the AMRIA, Otsuka contributes to the alliance’s initiatives through participation in both the Manufacturing and Access working groups of the organization. 2. IFPMA The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) is a global, non-profit, non-governmental organization that represents research-based pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and vaccine companies as well as regional and national associations. Otsuka is a member of IFPMA and actively engages in the association’s Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Global Advocacy working groups. 3. EFPIA Otsuka adheres to the EFPIA Code of Practice, ensuring that all interactions with healthcare professionals, healthcare organizations, and patient organizations are conducted ethically and transparently. This commitment includes compliance with the EFPIA’s guidelines on promotional activities, financial disclosures, and educational and scientific collaborations. By aligning with the EFPIA code, Otsuka demonstrates its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsibility in its communications and engagements within the EU healthcare landscape.
