Mission & Goals

LA ORGANIZACIÓN NACIONAL DE PUEBLOS ORIGINARIOS DE COLOMBIA - con su sigla ONPOC, tiene por objeto mejorar la calidad de vida, persiguebeneficios colectivos y comunicación permanente entre los mismos, mediante colaboración reciprocidad organizativa y solidaria, velando por una efectiva protección, pervivencia, autonomía, autodeterminación y desarrollo integral de los pueblos indígenas, grupos étnicos, afrocolombianos, afrodescendientes, negros, mulatos, raizales del archipiélago de san Andrés, rom o gitano y palenqueros: de índole Nacional e Internacional, sin distinción dé raza, sexo, religión, credo político ni social, mediante la divulgación de la declaración universal de los derechos humanos del 10 de diciembre de 1948 proclamada por las naciones unidas y el convenio 169 de la OIT sobre Pueblos Indígenas y Tribales, de igual forma se tiene como objeto societario con enfoque pluriétnico y multicultural, bajo las distintas visiones humanísticas y de desarrollo sostenible, haciendo é

Member Of

The only network to which ONPOC adheres is the Network of Forest Guardians (Guardiani delle FORESTE) - a network between indigenous peoples defending forests, is an informal network between indigenous communities from different countries. The Forest Guardians (Guardiani delle Foreste) network supports, non-economically, indigenous communities by providing technical help, media contacts, support for relations with agencies and institutions through its volunteers. RESEDA is a non-profit organisation that is part of Forest Guardians but not part of ONPOC, it has no relationship of subordination or control with ONPOC. RESEDA only provides support for this trip to European countries in 2024 of the ONPOC representative.

The members of ONPOC, actually, are exclusively the Colombian indigenous communities of the following related original peoples: 1. LIBERTAD TELEMBI - Pueblo Awá - indigenous community of the original Awá people 2. AWÁ MAYASQUER - Pueblo Awá - indigenous community of the original Awá people 3. CAMPO ALEGRE - Pueblo Wiwa - indigenous community of the original Wiwa people 4. CERRODEO - Pueblo Wayuu - indigenous community of the original Wayuu people ONPOC does not have a website.
