Mission & Goals
• Non-profit organisation developing open and interoperable technologies for the responsible use of non-public data in research and innovation • Focuses on non-public data held by hospitals, research institutions, companies, and on local or personal devices • Aims to support public-interest objectives, including healthcare, climate research, education, and AI safety • Promotes decentralized data governance models that allow data to remain under the control of its holders • Seeks to avoid unnecessary centralisation of sensitive data with service providers • Uses privacy-enhancing technologies to enable authorized analysis and collaboration • Ensures respect for confidentiality, data protection, and proprietary constraints • Supports the development of a public, open, and trustworthy technical infrastructure for lawful, privacy-preserving data use
