Mission & Goals

The primary objects and purposes of the association are to promote and advocate for: 1. Browser and Browser Engine competition on all general purpose consumer operating systems including but not limited to Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android & iOS. We believe that browsers should be free to compete on features, security and privacy. Further browsers and their engines should compete on consumer choice and merit, not via a gatekeeper's control of operating systems or deceptive behaviour. 2. Browsers and Web Apps being able to effectively compete with Native Apps, Gatekeeper Apps and Gatekeeper Services. In particular we aim to enable feature parity between Web Apps and Native Apps on all general purpose consumer operating systems including but not limited to Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android & iOS. 3. Preventing any other anti-competitive behaviour related to Browsers, Browser Engines and Web Apps.

EU Legislative Interests

We aim to enhance competition among browsers and between web applications and native applications. Our collaboration with competition regulators worldwide, our responses to public consultations, and our participation in forums such as the DMA workshops allow us to provide expert technical input that supports the implementation of measures such as the DMA.
