EU Legislative Interests

We are seeking to support and influence EU institutions, including the European Commission and the European Environment Agency, the European Parliament and the Council, and EU member state national authorities, in their implementation of EU Regulation 2024/1991 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 June 2024 on nature restoration and amending Regulation (EU) 2022/869) (the “EU Nature Restoration Law”), in particular the objectives and commitments in respect of protecting the oceans. We will do this while focussing on the relevant provisions of the EU’s Marine Action Plan, Biodiversity Strategy, Birds and Habitats Directives, Marine Strategy Framework Directive & Common Fisheries Policy.

Communication Activities

Work to raise awareness and inspire action in both Brussels and select member states related to ocean conservation. This will include the mobilization of members the public, online and offline activities and engaging with the media at specific moments.
