Mission & Goals
North Rhine-Westphalia aims to become Europe’s first climate-neutral industrial region. On this path, NRW.Energy4Climate, a state-owned company of North Rhine-Westphalia, formerly the NRW Energy Agency, supports companies and municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia in implementing climate protection measures efficiently and benefiting from them. The goal is to accelerate the transformation across the four relevant sectors - energy, industry, heat & buildings, and mobility - which together account for more than 90 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in NRW, in a cross-sector manner. This is intended to enable North Rhine-Westphalia to become climate-neutral as quickly as possible while strengthening its position as an industrial and services hub for the future.
