Mission & Goals
Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute is the European think tank founded by Jacques Delors in 1996 (originally under the name Notre Europe), following the end of his presidency of the European Commission. The Institute’s mission is to produce high-quality analysis and policy recommendations aimed at European decision-makers and the wider public, and to contribute meaningfully to debates on the future of the European Union. We publish a wide range of materials—including Op-Eds, Policy Papers, Studies & Reports, and Briefs—as well as videos and podcasts. We organize and participate in seminars and conferences across Europe, and regularly engage with European media through the voices of our Presidents, Director, and team members.

The work of Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute is deeply inspired by the vision and legacy of Jacques Delors, former President of the European Commission. His commitment to European integration, solidarity, and democratic governance continues to guide the Institute’s research and policy recommendations. Through rigorous analysis and forward-looking proposals, the Institute contributes to shaping the European Union’s legislative and policy agenda in areas such as economic governance, climate transition, social cohesion, institutional reform, and global strategy. Communication and Outreach Activities: At Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute, we produce and disseminate a wide range of content to foster informed debate and policy development across Europe. This includes: Publications such as Op-Eds, Policy Papers, Studies & Reports, and Briefs; Multimedia content, including videos and podcasts; Participation in and organization of seminars, conferences, and public debates throughout Europe; Regular media appearances by our Presidents, Director, and team members in leading European outlets. All our activities are freely accessible in French and English via our website and social media platforms. We operate with full independence from political authorities and economic interests, in line with our commitment to transparency and public service. Delors Network and Strategic Partnerships Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute is part of the Delors Network, a family of European think tanks inspired by the legacy of Jacques Delors. This network includes: The Jacques Delors Centre at the Hertie School in Berlin, which merges academic research with policy analysis to advance European integration. It serves as a hub for EU governance, law, and economic policy debates Europe Jacques Delors, a Brussels-based think tank created in 2020, focusing on EU climate policy, green trade, ocean governance, and democratic resilience. The newly created Jacques Delors Friends of Europe Foundation, launched in July 2025 to mark the centenary of Jacques Delors’ birth. This foundation unites the three Delors Institutes and Friends of Europe to give fresh momentum to European integration in response to current challenges. In addition, the Institute collaborates with the Mouvement Européen – France, a civil society organization promoting European citizenship and public engagement. Joint initiatives include citizen consultations, educational programs, and policy analysis projects such as the Académie Notre Europe.
Organisation Members
The Board of Directors and the Council of Trustees of Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute bring together distinguished European leaders, policymakers, academics, and civil society representatives who support and guide the Institute’s mission. The Board of Directors is chaired by Enrico Letta, and includes members such as Nicole Gnesotto, Carlos Moedas, Jonathan Faull, Arancha González, Elisabeth Guigou, and Christine Verger, among others. These individuals contribute their expertise in European affairs, diplomacy, law, and public policy. The Council of Trustees includes prominent figures such as Pascal Lamy (Coordinator of the Delors Think Tank Network), Martine Aubry, Gerhard Cromme, Etienne Davignon, Philippe Lagayette, and António Vitorino.
