Mission & Goals
No Peace Without Justice is an international non‑profit organisation founded by Emma Bonino and born of a 1993 campaign of the Transnational Radical Party that works for the protection and promotion of human rights, democracy, the rule of law and international justice, and undertakes its work within four main thematic programs: - International Criminal Justice; - Gender and Human Rights; - Middle East and North Africa Democracy, including specific work on Libya and Syria; - Accountability for deforestation in Amazonia Priorities for action for all programs are selected on the basis of the needs as determined on the ground, involving all stakeholders in the design and implementation of activities. In advocacy activities, NPWJ raises awareness and fosters public debate through explicitly political campaigns and the implementation of key programs, such as international and regional meetings, often co-hosted and co-organised with Government of the country in which they are held.
EU Legislative Interests
Relevant EU initiatives of legislative files covered by the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI), the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Women's Rights & Gender Equality of the European Parliament and the Committee on Environmental protection, related to our own specific or priority topics: support to civil society and human rights advocates in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region; supporting international criminal justice mechanisms to ensure accountability for the most serious crimes; supporting initiatives aimed at preventing and ending female genital mutilation (FGM) and other harmful traditional practices (such as early marriage) which constitute human rights violations and impede women's empowerment; foster political and legislative measures to enhance environmental protection.

In the framework of the before mentioned acitivities or priorities, our organisation has promoted and/or organised in coordination with MEP several public events, such as: - Roundtable "GIRLS’ RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS: towards girls’ autonomy and self-determination worldwide", 11 October 2022 - "Addressing Deforestation in Amazonia. A Land Rights and Women's Perspective", 9 November 2021 - Workshop "Envisioning International Justice: what role for the International Criminal Court?", 28 October 2021 - Conference “Fighting FGM in Europe. Increasing the impact of policies against Female Genital Mutilations”, 10 December 2020 - Child Victims of Proxy Wars in the Middle East, 19 November 2019 - Supporting the Fight against Female Genital Mutilation: Promoting Women's Rights by Demanding the Full Enforcement of Law, 6 February 2019
