Mission & Goals

Nielsen is an international audience measurement company specialising in audience insights, data and analytics. Nielsen shapes the future of media with accurate measurement of what people listen to and watch. Nielsen is part of the Audience Measurement Coalition (AMC) together with other research suppliers and Joint Industry Committees which promotes independent audience measurement, market-agreed audience measurement standards and transparency of measurement across the EU.

EU Legislative Interests

Together with the Audience Measurement Coalition, Nielsen promotes the establishment of a proper data protection and privacy framework for audience measurement as well as the value of audience measurement in connection with transparency in the public interest and fair competition on the Digital Single Market. Specific proposals of interest: -AVMSD (upcoming Review) -Digital Markets Act -Digital Services Act -Future Digital Fairness Act -Proposal for a "Digital Omnibus a Regulation"
