Mission & Goals
Brussels-based consultancy providing regulatory intelligence and advisory services in EU food and feed safety law, agricultural trade regulation, and related policy processes. Services include: systematic monitoring of EU legislative and regulatory developments (comitology, EFSA outputs, DG SANTE initiatives, WTO/SPS measures); legal and policy analysis of EU food law instruments including Regulations (EC) 396/2005, 1107/2009, and (EU) 2019/1009; econometric studies, impact assessment, and scenario scanning for regulatory proposals; strategic support for stakeholder engagement with EU institutions; crisis preparedness and institutional communication. Clients include agricultural commodity organisations, trade associations, and producer boards, primarily with interests outside the EU seeking market access or regulatory engagement in the single market. EU Legislative Interests
Regulation (EU) No 2025/895 — Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus Horizontal simplification package amending core food and feed law instruments. Primary instruments targeted for amendment include Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food and feed, and Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market. Specific provisions monitored include the deletion of MRLs for non-approved active substances, import tolerance procedures under Article 6 of Regulation 396/2005, emergency measure frameworks, and official controls. Actively tracked for implications on third-country market access and agri-food trade flows. Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the Council on novel foods Including authorisation procedures, traditional food notifications, and classification questions relevant to plant-based and biologically derived food ingredients. Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the provision of food information to consumers Including origin labelling, allergen information, and digital labelling proposals under the Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus. Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals Specifically its interface with pesticide and biocide legislation and classification of substances relevant to the agri-food sector. Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 laying down the general principles and requirements of food law Including the precautionary principle, risk communication, and the institutional relationship between the European Food Safety Authority and the European Commission.
