Mission & Goals

NEXUS is a U.S. NIH-funded research project that serves as the national coordinating center for exposomics. Dr. Miller is the contact principal investigator. He is also professor and vice dean for research at Columbia University. He collaborates with many European partners. From March 15-July 15, he is serving as the International Collen-Francqui Chair based at Ghent University in Belgium. The goal of NEXUS is to promote the science of exposomics, as such, he plans to meet with many European officials during his visiting professorship and during other visits in Europe. Dr Miller has served as an advisor to the University of Paris, University of Vienna, Utrecht University, Masaryk University, and others as it relates to exposomics. One of the major goals of the NEXUS projects is to engage with other partners in Europe. Although our intial plan was to focus on academic partners, it has become clear that engagement with ministries of health, funding agencies, and politicians is needed.
