EU Legislative Interests
AGILE Pilot, EU-Inc: Accelerate innovation and integrates deep-tech startups into sovereign defence capabilities, bypassing traditional procurement slowness. EU-Inc is also called the 28th regime, a pan-european legal entity for startups. "Military Schengen": A regulatory push to overcome logistical bottlenecks, ensuring rapid deployment of assets and personnel across EU borders. - EU Defence Package & Apply AI Strategy: A coordinated roadmap to speed up "AI-first" adoption in critical sectors (including defence), moving from regulation to operational implementation. - The Drone Wall: A multi-nation "technological curtain" (led by the Baltics, Poland, and Finland) designed to secure the Eastern Flank through advanced sensors, unmanned systems, and real-time situational awareness. - European Defence Fund (EDF): The EU’s primary financial engine (~€8bn) for collaborative R&D, requiring cross-border consortia (e.g., Finland-Estonia-Norway) to unlock capital for high-tech prototypes. - European Defence Industrial Strategy (EDIS) & EDTIB: The long-term policy framework aimed at strengthening the "European Defence Technological and Industrial Base" to ensure technological sovereignty and reduce dependency on non-EU suppliers. - AI Gigafactory: A strategic initiative (notably involving Finland and Estonia) to build sovereign computing capacity for developing next-generation European AI models. - Competitiveness Compass: The Commission's broader economic roadmap to restore Europe's dynamism, closely linked to "EU Inc" and securing industrial resilience. - Enhanced Security Partnerships: Strengthening defence cooperation with key non-EU allies (NATO, US, UK, Norway) and Indo-Pacific partners (India, Japan, Republic of Korea, Australia) to counter hybrid threats.
