Mission & Goals
The Netherlands Industries for Defence and Security (NIDV) connects companies, knowledge institutions and the government within the Netherlands. The NIDV has its inception in 1984 when it was founded through cooperation between the government (Ministries of Economic Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Defence) and industry partners. It aims to position the Dutch defence and safety sector both within and outside the Netherlands. The NIDV acts as a knowledge center, a trade promotor and as a policy advocate for the Dutch defence industry. As a network organisation, the NIDV positions Dutch companies that provide products and services in the realm of national and international security. We do so towards both Dutch and international end-users and OEM’s in order to become part of global supply chains. The NIDV fosters the involvement of its participants with the design, development, production and maintenance of defence systems.
