Mission & Goals
The purpose of the NWU is to promote and protect the rights, interests, and economic advancement of members and of all writers and media workers; to organize writers and media workers to improve working conditions through collective bargaining and other actions; and to provide services to members. The NWU represent the interests of writers and media workers in all genres, media, and publication formats; of diverse cultural, ethnic, racial and religious heritage; of all sexual/gender orientations; with disabilities; and at all levels of income and commercial success.

Copyright policy, including copyright reform, exceptions and limitations to copyright, and copyright enforcement. Artificial intelligence. Labor issues including trade union organizing and freelancers' rights.
