Mission & Goals
National Board of Tourism is the largest NGO in sector “Tourism”, registered in Sofia, Bulgaria in May 2006, which represents and defends the interests of the leading companies – investors in the tourism and related business activities in Bulgaria, generating significant part of the GDP. The association serves as a unique platform uniting all stakeholders of the Bulgarian tourism industry across country. This includes, hotels and restaurant facilities, tourism complexes and resorts, associations, and academic institutes. National Board of Tourism takes part in regular sessions of The Public Council on Tourism to the Minister of Tourism and The National Tourist Council.
EU Legislative Interests
National tourism board works in a close cooperation with the Ministry of tourism, Commission of tourism in the National Assembly, HOTREC, following and implementing the policies, designated by the EU institutions. We also have a member member of the ETC, which gave us opportunity to gather information directly from the source.
Communication Activities
Every year NTB organizes formal meetings between the representatives of the government, business and academic fields. The purpose is to discuss issues and solve problems and acquaint our members with the EU institutions requirements which will contribute to the better positioning of Bulgaria on the European tourism map. NTB is also a partner to the Ministry of tourism for the 68th Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe held in Sofia 31 May - 2 June.
