Mission & Goals

INCDTIM’s core remit is to advance scientific excellence and technological innovation in support of regional, national, and European priorities. With over 70 years of experience, the institute is dedicated to conducting high-quality fundamental and applied research, while actively promoting the transfer of knowledge and technologies to industry and society. Its mission is to generate impactful solutions that address current and emerging challenges in areas such as advanced materials, energy sustainability, environmental protection, health, and digital transformation. The institute aims to strengthen its role as a key contributor within the European Research Area by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, participating in international research networks, and supporting Horizon Europe initiatives. INCDTIM is committed to developing innovative prototypes and scalable technologies, enhancing research infrastructure, and provide highly skilled human capital.

EU Legislative Interests

Key EU legislative proposals and policies targeted include: European Green Deal – supporting climate neutrality through research in renewable energy, advanced materials, and environmental protection. Horizon Europe – aligning with its pillars on Excellent Science, Global Challenges, and Innovative Europe, particularly in clusters such as Climate, Energy, Digital, Industry, and Health. Fit for 55 package – contributing to emissions reduction targets via clean technologies and energy-efficient solutions. EU Industrial Strategy – advancing innovation in materials science, nanofabrication, and quantum technologies to strengthen European industrial competitiveness. Digital Europe Programme – supporting digital transformation, including quantum computing and advanced data-driven technologies. Farm to Fork Strategy – addressing food safety, traceability, and quality through isotope analysis and advanced analytical techniques. Public Engagement Campaigns – Awareness campaigns and open days focused on sustainability, renewable energy, and environmental protection, supporting objectives of the European Green Deal and EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030. Scientific Publications and Policy Contributions – Dissemination of research results through peer-reviewed journals, white papers, and policy briefs aligned with initiatives such as the Circular Economy Action Plan and Fit for 55 package. Industry and Stakeholder Events – Brokerage events, technology transfer workshops, and innovation forums that support the EU Industrial Strategy by connecting research outcomes with industry needs.
