Mission & Goals
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. Manufacturing employs 13 million men and women, contributes $2.85 trillion to the U.S. economy annually, has the largest economic impact of any major sector and accounts for 53% of private-sector research and development in the U.S. Its mission is to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturers and improve American living standards by shaping a legislative and regulatory environment conducive to U.S. economic growth.
EU Legislative Interests
· U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council and other trade negotiations between United States and the EU · Policies, regulations and standards that impact manufacturers in the United States, including but not limited to the Restriction on Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH); the EU database on substances of concern in articles as such or in complex objects (products) (SCIP database); the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive/Corporate Sustainability Reporting Decretive; and EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). · Investment, intellectual property, technology, competition policy, energy and environment measures

The NAM participates in policy implementation through comments, letters, reports and meetings as well as public events and communications to explain positions and provide information on subject topics.
