EU Legislative Interests
Engagement is technical in nature and primarily focused on professional standards, audit, and reporting frameworks.Ie: Corporate reporting, Audit, assurance and regulation of the accounting profession, Sustainability reporting and assurance Specific: Directive (EU) 2022/2464 – Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) Regulation (EU) 537/2014 – Statutory Audit Regulation Proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) EU Anti-Money Laundering Package (2021 legislative proposals)
Communication Activities
Participation in professional and technical events (including roundtables, webinars, and conferences) addressing developments in EU audit, sustainability reporting, and anti-money laundering frameworks. Contribution to discussions and forums with stakeholders on the practical application of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Statutory Audit framework, and AML legislative package.

Additional Information
The organisation undertakes limited direct interest representation towards EU institutions. Activities are primarily technical in nature and include participation in professional discussions, contribution to consultations, and dissemination of regulatory updates. The estimated costs reflect: a proportionate allocation of staff time dedicated to EU-related matters; and a share of membership fees to The European Group of International Accountancy Networks, which supports engagement with EU policy developments. Additional costs relating to travel, events, and publications are limited. The organisation does not maintain a dedicated public affairs function.
