Mission & Goals

Mind Hub is a non-profit organisation founded in January 2020 and based in Brussels/Belgium. The primary mission of Mind Hub is cultivating an understanding of co-existence of different identities of people with different backgrounds in support of cultural integration in the society. This mission is sought to be achieved by bringing together the realms of psychology and neuropolitics with societal identities. Mind Hub helps its participants cope with uncertainty, develop leadership skills in times of uncertainty, and cultivate social solidarity through panels, networking events, and workshops. The organisation now aims to expand its scope to combine its mission and the EU’s policies in the field. For further information: https://linktr.ee/mindhubacademy

EU Legislative Interests

Mind Hub is concerned with EU policies on mental and physical well-being, the role of youth in politics and society, the role of civil society in policy-making, and cultural and societal integration. The organisation targets EU policies (and impacts of) Horizon Europe programmes, the European Green Deal, debates on the Future of Europe, societal and psychological effects of EU enlargement and partnership processes, EU Cultural Diplomacy Platform, EU public diplomacy, EU vs Disinformation, climate change and its effects on societies (migration, climate anxiety, policies concerning the youth etc.), civil society and civil society entrepreneurship, and EU health policies (EU4Health, mental health policies etc.).

Communication Activities

Mind Hub organises a set of communication activities on aforementioned subjects and on issues related to the experiences of expatriates of different nationalities living in Belgium, their cultural integration, their psychological well-being, and tackling the challenges of digitalisation and disinformation. Mind Hub participants are able to support themselves in the field of self-improvement with activities. "Pushing boundaries in a new world", "Leadership in times of uncertainty", "Coping with ambiguity" and "Social Solidarity in times of Pandemic" were included in the sessions on helping young people chart their future in an ever-complex world. Mind Hub has also organised an event on the Future of Europe and the role of youth in Brussels. During the event, participants of various backgrounds debated on the current situation in Europe and the place of youth, the priorities of the EU throughout the Conference on the Future of Europe, whether the concerns of European youth are represented and how the EU can become ‘future-proof’ for its younger generations. In 2021, the Brussels International Amity Orchestra (BIAO) was founded with the initiative of Mind Hub. The orchestra regularly performs concerts aimed at bridging cultures and peoples through the unifying power of music. In line with its mission, the orchestra consists of amateur and professional musicians of all ages from different nationalities. Its repertoire is composed of a wide range of music from classical to popular, as well as from eastern to western melodies. In 2023-2024, Mind Hub was part of a quadripartite Erasmus+ project, ‘Music 4 Inclusion’, with other parties coming from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. The project aims to contribute to the social and cultural integration of people that have recently moved to a foreign country through the common activity of playing music. One of Mind Hub’s specific goals is to move forward the above-mentioned BIAO initiative through the activities to be carried out within the framework of this Erasmus+ project. For more information on the 'Music 4 Inclusion' Erasmus+ project: https://linktr.ee/music4inclusion. Mind Hub was a partner in the “Joyful Leadership 7.0” Erasmus+ project, which was developed to address the pressing need for high-quality leadership education for youth workers. This initiative focuses on enhancing leadership skills among youth professionals, enabling them to guide and support young people more effectively. Mind Hub has developed significant expertise in providing psychological support services to communities affected by disasters and conflicts. A notable ongoing initiative is the Erasmus+ project titled “Project for Supporting Psychological Literacy of Educators Who Work with Disadvantaged Groups”. This project is coordinated by the Turkish Ministry of Education and Mind Hub is one of the project partners. It aims to support teachers working with children affected by the devastating 6 February 2023 Türkiye earthquakes, one of the century's most severe natural disasters. Thanks to this project, teachers will support thousands of children who have lost their homes, families, and are struggling with grief and trauma. Mind Hub also collaborates with Bruxircle, a youth platform for knowledge, experience and network sharing, in joint events and projects. Since 2020, Bruxircle has been regularly organising in collaboration with Mind Hub activities ranging from multi-week online conferences to one-day seminars, as well as in-person meetings in Brussels and other European capitals. Public and cultural diplomacy, career planning for young individuals in Brussels and beyond, the institutional setup of the EU and its decision-making processes, and conversations with high-level politicians, bureaucrats, and diplomats are among the wide range of topics covered.
