Mission & Goals
The Migration Policy Institute Europe, established in Brussels in 2011, is a nonprofit, independent research institute that aims to provide a better understanding of migration in Europe and thus promote effective policymaking. MPI Europe provides authoritative research and practical policy design to governmental and nongovernmental stakeholders who seek more effective management of immigration, immigrant integration, and asylum systems as well as successful outcomes for newcomers, families of immigrant background, and receiving communities in Europe. MPI Europe operates as a separate legal and accounting entity. Its registration covers MPI Europe itself; collaborations with other organisations, such as Migration Policy Institute - Washington D.C., US, are conducted through distinct contractual agreements.
EU Legislative Interests
Policy related to immigration, asylum, and the integration of immigrants. As this is a cross-cutting topic, MPI Europe has an interest in a broad range of files, within both the EU Commission and External Action Service.
Communication Activities
MPI Europe, as well as MPI DC, engages in research-based outreach on EU migration and integration policies. Activities include policy briefings, workshops, and seminars with EU institutions; publication of reports and policy briefs; participation in consultations and hearings; and dissemination of findings via newsletters, webinars, and online platforms. All activities are evidence-driven and non-advocacy. For all publications, events and project activities associated with MPI Europe, please see our website: http://mpieurope.org/

MPI Europe collaborates with the Migration Policy Institute in the U.S. (MPI) as a separate legal and accounting entity. Both organizations operate independently, with no financial interdependence. Collaboration occurs solely through defined contractual agreements for specific professional activities and projects. While MPI U.S. was the founder of MPI Europe and continues to have representation on its Board of Trustees, the two entities remain distinct and maintain independent governance and financial management. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/programs/mpi-europe?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqZatuNqHgwMVixEGAB1BSgOxEAAYASAAEgIJEfD_BwE
