Mission & Goals
Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulu Oy (METROPOLIA) is the largest University of Applied Sciences in Finland located in the Helsinki capital region. Metropolia has 18.000 students and 1100 staff of which 600 full-time teaching staff. Metropolia has four fields of education: Business, Culture, Health and Social Care and Technology with altogether 85 degree programs of which 24 are in English. The university is owned by municipalities of Helsinki Metropolitan area and city of Kirkkonummi. Metropolia is known for its interdisciplinary and phenomenon-based innovation hubs built around societal challenges.

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences is a limited liability company owned by the municipalities of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area with the following holdings: Helsinki 42%, Espoo 27%, Vantaa 26%, Kirkkonummi 4% and Kauniainen 1%. The organization is directed by the Board of Directors, composed of representatives from the owner municipalities as well as a student and a staff representative.
