EU Legislative Interests
MERMEC follows policy and legislative developments related to the interoperability, digitalisation and safety of the European railway system, in particular: Regulation (EU) 2016/796 on the European Union Agency for Railways, Directive (EU) 2016/797 on the interoperability of the rail system within the European Union; Directive (EU) 2016/798 on railway safety; The European Rail Traffic Management System European Deployment Plan as established by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/6 and subsequent amendments; The Trans-European Transport Network policy as laid down in Regulation (EU) No 1315/2013 and its revision; Legislative and policy initiatives under the European Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy concerning rail transport digitalisation and modal shift
