Mission & Goals
Mensa Cívica is a Spanish association that gathers diverse stakeholders of the food supply chain in order to promote sustainability in collective catering, particularly in kindergartens, schools, universities, hospitals, and elderly homes. Founded in 2015, the organization pursuits the following objectives: 1.Promote the change of the specifications and contracting systems of public and private entities that promote social food. 2.Train the agents that operate in collective catering and disseminate their sustainable values and concrete actions. 3.Promote coordination, and initiatives that favor balanced diets, local foods and biodiversity. 4.Support research, development and innovation processes linked to food sustainability. 5.Support new entrepreneurs that promote sustainability, social and cultural insertion in the food supply chain. 6.Join efforts with other stakeholders working in the same direction, enhancing mutual learning of good practices in relation to food, h (...)
