Mission & Goals
1. The purpose of MEDAIR e.V. is to • promote public health and care; as well as: • promote disaster and civil protection; and: • support people in need. 2. The purpose of MEDAIR e.V. is realized at home and especially abroad, in particular through: • the use of qualified technical assistance to save human lives in disasters and special emergency situations in countries that cannot do so on their own. • cooperation with national and international aid services that specialize in operations in areas affected by disasters such as famine, epidemics, refugee misery caused by war, etc. • Acquisition and collection of relief supplies and materials, as well as their transport to crisis areas. • Training of local personnel in the respective country. • Performance of all tasks related to the activities mentioned here or contributing to their implementation. • Raising funds for other entities, particularly within the Medair network, which will use the raised funds for the aforementioned purposes.
EU Legislative Interests
MEDAIR e.V. engages with EU Institutions, in particular the European Commission, with a focus on DG ECHO. MEDAIR e.V. follows legislative and policy files that are relevant to its humanitarian mandate - in particular, with regards to humanitarian policy and the humanitarian aid budget.
Communication Activities
MEDAIR e.V. conducts general public awareness raising activities on topics relevant to its humanitarian mandate. MEDAIR e.V. occasionally participates in meetings with, or provides written submissions to, staff of the Union institutions or decision-makers in the European Parliament. These activities are generally undertaken in conjunction with one or more of the entities mentioned in section 12.

MEDAIR e.V. is an independent member of the international Medair family. MEDAIR e.V. is a member of EU-CORD (REG number 323804648361-77). MEDAIR e.V. is a member of Deutscher Spendenrat e.V.
Organisation Members
The membership of MEDAIR e.V. is formed of adult, legally competent, natural persons who affirm the goals and core values of the association, and who actively support its purposes; and who have been accepted by the MEDAIR e.V. Advisory Board.
