Mission & Goals
The MAH is both an education institute and a research institute for IWT. As an education institute, MAH is a leading provider of training and education for Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) crew in Europe, offering comprehensive curricula in both secondary education and professional training. As a founding member of EDINNA, the European network of IWT schools, MAH plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of IWT education. Under the leadership of its Director, Mr. Mintjes, MAH has been instrumental in advancing the group's mission. As a non-profit research institute dedicated to innovation in IWT, the MAH Innovation, Simulator and Research Centre actively engages in R&D to develop modern IWT education and enhance the sector's societal performance, focusing on safety, sustainability, and competitiveness. MAH has successfully participated in numerous European initiatives, securing funding from programs such as H2020, Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus+, Interreg, and national schemes.
