Mission & Goals
Marinalg primary objectives include promoting a better understanding of the benefits and uses of hydrocolloids produced from seaweed to key audiences, including health professionals and consumers. We verify, document, and communicate the safety and technological justification of seaweed-derived hydrocolloids using sound scientific principles. Marinalg also represents the seaweed-derived hydrocolloids industry before international scientific and regulatory bodies such as Codex Alimentarius, the European Food Safety Authority, the U.S Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Marinalg members work together to ensure the highest level of industry standards for seaweed-derived hydrocolloids, from seaweed farming to hydrocolloid production and use.
