Mission & Goals
MEIA is an autonomous, non-profit association dedicated to giving a stronger voice to Malta’s creative sectors. From advocacy to education, collaboration to policy change, we work towards a fairer, more sustainable future for all creatives. Our conference, Culture at Work 2025 is platform for critical dialogue, and transformative discussions designed to reshape how we work, create, and think within the cultural and creative sectors. Produced by MEIA, this un-conference assembles a diverse community of artists, cultural leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and change-makers to confront the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the creative sectors today. It is a space where cultural work intersects with systemic change, exploring how economic systems, infrastructure, collaboration, and impact can be redefined to drive lasting societal transformation.
EU Legislative Interests
The Malta Entertainment Industry and Arts Association (MEIA) organizes the Culture at Work UNCONFERENCE as a key platform to advance and support the objectives of several EU policies and legislative frameworks, including the European Agenda for Culture, the Creative Europe Programme, and the EU Digital Strategy. This event fosters dialogue, innovation, and collaboration among cultural practitioners and policymakers, aligning with EU priorities on cultural infrastructure, inclusive cultural development, and digital transformation in the cultural sector. The unconference also promotes sustainable cultural practices in line with the European Green Deal and supports post-pandemic recovery efforts as outlined in the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility. Through this event and related activities, MEIA contributes directly to the implementation and awareness of these key EU cultural and social policies.
