AS MADARA Cosmetics is a leading Northern European manufacturer of organic and natural skincare and makeup. As a publicly traded Joint Stock Company (AS), our mission is to develop and manufacture innovative, scientifically validated cosmetic products that prioritize human health and environmental sustainability. Our core goals and remit include: Sustainable Innovation: Advancing the "Green Chemistry" sector by utilizing Nordic ingredients and sustainable processing methods to replace synthetic alternatives. Transparency & Education: Promoting clear labeling and consumer awareness regarding ingredient safety and environmental impact within the beauty industry. Economic Growth: Operating as a transparent, ESG-compliant (Environmental, Social, and Governance) entity listed on the Nasdaq Riga, contributing to the European bio-economy. Advocacy: Engaging in dialogue regarding EU cosmetic regulations, environmental standards, and the transition to a circular economy.

EU Legislative Interests

Targeted EU Policies & Proposals: Revision of the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009: Monitoring the "Omnibus" packages and the restriction of certain substances to ensure science-based, predictable safety standards for natural ingredients. Green Claims Directive & ECGT: Implementation of rules for substantiating environmental claims to prevent greenwashing and protect authentic organic manufacturers. Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR): Preparation for the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and compliance with circular economy requirements for premium packaging. EU Industrial Strategy & SME Relief Package: Advocating for the competitiveness of EU-based "Green Chemistry" manufacturing and reducing administrative burdens for high-growth SMEs. EU Trade Policy: Discussions on market access and regulatory convergence for European organic products in global markets (relevant to VP Dombrovskis' portfolio).

Communication Activities

Annual ESG reports, scientific publications on bio-based ingredients, and industry workshops. Hosting EU officials for production site visits to discuss sustainable manufacturing and trade.
