Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Esbjerg, Denmark, MacArtney delivers integrated systems including data acquisition, cable and connector technology, launch and recovery systems, and subsea instrumentation. The company operates across 21 locations worldwide and employs over 500 people. MacArtney is committed to sustainability, technical excellence, and responsible innovation. Its ESG strategy supports the UN Global Compact and focuses on reducing CO₂ emissions, protecting marine life, and promoting responsible production. EU Legislative Interests

MacArtney targets EU legislative proposals and policies related to maritime security, critical underwater infrastructure protection, and sustainable ocean technologies. In connection with the visit of MEP Henna Virkunnen, focus areas include the EU Maritime Security Strategy, the Critical Entities Resilience Directive (CER), and the EU Offshore Renewable Energy Strategy. MacArtney also supports the objectives of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the EU Green Deal, particularly regarding subsea technologies that contribute to climate-neutral energy systems and the protection of marine ecosystems.

MacArtney has engaged in targeted communication activities to support EU policy dialogue, including participation in public conferences such as Energiens Folkemøde 2025, where topics like protection of critical underwater infrastructure and defense innovation were presented.
